About our Staff
Elizabeth Rondeau:
I started my yoga journey 5 years ago, taking my first class in New York with a friend. I enjoyed it but when I returned home I resumed my regular exercise routine of swimming a mile 4 to 5 times a week which I had been doing for 25 years.
Several months later, a Bikram yoga studio opened in Dallas. I can’t tell you much about my first class except the heat was intense, the positions were hard, my mind was bouncing around like a ping pong ball and I wondered what I had gotten myself into.
But when I left class I had a pleasant but unfamiliar experience. Physically I was tired but relaxed. Mentally I felt very calm and surprisingly alert. I even felt like I could see colors more brightly and images seemed sharper. Even though my mind was protesting, my body and mind felt great in a completely new way.
I went home, took a long nap (not really by choice, I was pretty wiped out), had lunch and felt fabulous! I knew inherently this was something special. For the first time in a year and a half, the chronic neck pain I was experiencing from herniated discs was noticeably lessened. After seeing several doctors and taking physical therapy there was still no relief in sight. That was it. I knew I had found what I was looking for.
I continued to practice 3 times a week and in less than one month I knew I wanted to become a Bikram yoga teacher. I felt like this was a perfect compliment to my massage therapy practice. I also felt that if could help me it could also help others and I wanted to encourage people to take an active role in their health.
That was just the beginning. Yoga has made me much more in tune with my body and I have come to know myself better. I have developed an understanding of what kinds of foods are best for me, my emotional needs and created a lifestyle that exemplifies a healthy mind, body and spirit.
Combining my experience as a massage therapist, yoga teacher and nutritional counseling working with herbs, diet and exercise has given me the opportunity to offer a holistic approach to overall health to my students.
Being a yoga teacher is an honor. It has helped me be more empathetic as I share each students journey in their yoga practice. It brings me great joy to see the students change and to share in their excitement as they experience for themselves how powerful Bikram Yoga is. Our students are dedicated and enthusiastic and along with our teachers, we have created a feeling of community and fellowship that we all enjoy.
If there is one message that I would give to new students it would be not to leave before the magic happens. Bikram yoga is transforming in many ways, some obvious, many more subtle. It will affect you physically, emotionally and mentally. Yoga is a practice so there’s no perfect posture. As long as you come and try your best, you will experience all the benefits. Whatever your goals are, keep them in mind, but stay open minded because for most students your practice will become so much more than it seems initially. Yoga is also a discipline so even when you don’t feel like coming, come anyway. Not only will you feel better after class but each day you come to class, you give the yoga an opportunity to work its wonders on you. Once you experience the benefits, you’ll simply want to stay.
Shae Ross:
I started practicing Bikram yoga eight years ago and since then have been continually amazed at the numerous health benefits and transformative effects of the this yoga.
As a yoga student I saw the quality of my own life improve drastically in terms of strength, mobility, stress reduction and overall wellbeing. My practice is a basic foundation of a more positive and healthy physical, mental and emotional life, helping me with everything from everyday stress to long term goals.
Prior to practicing Bikram yoga, I participated in many other kinds of athletic activities but nothing came close to what I was experiencing with my yoga practice. I have also worked as a model for fifteen years. Being involved in sports and the modeling profession has exposed me to both positive and negative aspects of health and fitness.
Deciding to become a Bikram yoga teacher has allowed me to share my experiences and help others find their own path to a healthier, happier lifestyle.
I currently split my time, living and working in Europe and the Unites States. I have a degree in Speech Communication and my interest include Psychology, Health, Communications and travel. I also enjoy reading, languages, horseback riding and getting a good massage.
Erin Pack:
I started practicing Bikram yoga 5 years ago and it has changed my life! I have never worked so hard in my life and I was immediately hooked. As I began my yoga practice, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. That was interesting and did get to work but knew it wasn’t my calling.
I decided to go to Bikrams teacher training in the Fall of 2002. It was the most amazing time. I would never take that back. I made some life long friends and learned so many things about myself.
I have been teaching now for 3 years. Wow how time flies! I love everything about teaching but what I find most rewarding is to see and be a part of all the amazing breakthroughs the students’ experience. As a teacher, I find the students at Bikram Yoga North Dallas inspiring. As I guide them through their powerful 90 minute class they continually help me to fine tune my skills and motivate me to become a better teacher.
After coming back to Dallas in 2004, Elizabeth took me under her wing and welcomed me with open arms. I am blessed to be teaching at Bikram Yoga North Dallas and look forward to making new friends.
